About the team

We're rapidly growing and looking for a Senior Associate, FP&A who will help scale the Finance organization at Alloy. You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Finance and work collaboratively with business stakeholders. You bring extensive knowledge of finance and accounting principles and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Finance team and partner with key department leaders in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial management and board reports, including financial statement summaries and operating KPIs.
  • Learn, manage, and master various operating models that feed into the total company metrics and KPIs, and continuous planning.
  • Track and analyze large data in detail to identify opportunities for savings, spending trends, and provide insights on course corrections as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly and quarterly budget vs. variance department review.
  • Partner with Strategic Finance to maintain full 3-statement financial forecasts, scenario planning, and management reporting.
  • Partner with the Accounting team to help establish and maintain processes around FP&A close review, expense reporting, cash reporting, and financial statement analytics.
  • Partner with the People team to manage hiring requests against the plan, people-related analytics, and headcount-related budgets.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to manage procurement workflows through Zip for adherence to departmental budgets. Evaluate large vendor contracts and assist in negotiations where appropriate.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a prior FP&A capacity, including analytical variance review, month-over-month trend analysis, and review or collaboration with close activities. Must have a solid foundation of accounting principles. Ideally, you’ve spent your early career in Big Four accounting (or equivalent) and have spent time building expertise in FP&A work at a high-growth startup.
  • Data Mastery: Prior experience transforming complex data sets into detail-oriented but consumable management reporting. Building analytical files and models from disparate data sets, sifting through data quality issues, and using smart, scalable, and formulaic approaches. You’ll be leveraging systems including NetSuite, Rippling, Ramp, Zip, Salesforce, and Greenhouse.
  • Professional: In this role, you’ll have access to confidential data. Through your work and interactions with others, you consistently demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a sound moral character in your actions and communications.
  • Collaboration: Experience in cross-functional reporting and comfortable working with senior leaders. We collaborate often on Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Slack.
  • Forward-thinking: Ability to solve complex problems and articulate the root cause and recommended solutions. A sharp sense of balancing tradeoffs to address current-day priorities while accounting for what is needed in the future.
  • Operational Excellence: Able to drive projects to completion and organize/prioritize work for yourself. Sustain execution and urgency in the work processes.
  • Strong Communicator: Presence and polish with the ability to work and communicate at a senior level while still staying hands-on in the models. The ability to clearly articulate outcomes from complex analyses.

Alloy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Below is the anticipated starting base compensation range for this role; however, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, in-demand skills, relevant experience, and/or geography. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for equity awards in the form of stock options (ISOs) as well as a competitive total benefits package. Your recruiter will be happy to walk you through the details and what compensation could look like for you specifically!

This position has a salary range of $120,000 to $141,000.
