Data ScientistAbout the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Data and Decision Scientist to deliver insightful analytics and predictive models that support the global risk management strategy for Global Business Solutions at Fiserv.
This position will be responsible building and supporting the deployment of ML models and Decisioning frameworks as well as traditional techniques to support the risk management strategy. The incumbent will play a critical role in supporting key company priorities, by reducing risk of loss as well as enabling top line growth. The incumbent will conduct complex and sophisticated analytics, develop ML and predictive models for credit and fraud risk management as well as identify new areas of opportunity. This position will be a critical interface with stakeholders within and outside Fiserv in building best-in-class analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting complex analysis using statistical and other industry leading quantitative techniques.
- Developing predictive models using large datasets. Leverage machine learning as well as traditional techniques in developing best-in-class models as appropriate.
Conducting analysis to support the development of policies. - Building analytical products using external and internal data assets in close collaboration with technology teams.
- Identify and evaluate external data sources and attributes necessary to enhance predictive models
- Implement robust data validation, monitoring, and tracking solutions.
- Maintain documentation to support internal and external stakeholder requirements and partner effectively within Agile workflows using JIRA and Confluence.
- Establish the scope of the project, lead internal communication with stakeholders, and ensure delivery of projects per commitment.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related).
- 4+ years of relevant experience in leveraging analytics in a financial or technology firm as well as at least 3-5 years of experience in leading people and teams.
- Deeply proficient in Python—for data engineering, statistical modeling, machine learning and production model deployment
- Experience deploying solutions to AWS using CI/CD automation.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (SQL, data pipelines, optimization).
- Strong experience with Git workflows in GitHub
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects on a concurrent basis and be able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with other internal staff and external consulting firms
- Ability to perform duties under minimum supervision
- Hands-on experience in using large data sets and in building predictive models using traditional techniques as well as new techniques such as machine learning.
Good to Have
- Agile methodology experience (JIRA, Confluence).
- Exposure to OCR, NLP, or AI-driven automation.
- Fintech/payments/lending domain experience.
- Background in real-time and unstructured data pipelines.
- Familiarity with ML model pipelines or feature stores.
- Experience with visualization tools like Power BI / Tableau.
- Knowledge of credit bureaus and other external data sources.
Experience developing analytics, reporting or data processing using SAS.
Salary Range
$100,000.00 - $165,600.00These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
