Head of Delivery Transformation, SHIP LeadWhat does a successful Head of Delivery Transformation - India SHIP Lead do?
As the Head of Delivery Transformation - SHIP Lead, you will turn transformation priorities into shipped product outcomes across engineering and product organizations. You will work with engineering, product, risk, operations, and compliance leaders to improve delivery throughput, remove execution bottlenecks, and create transparent operating mechanisms. Your work will strengthen release predictability, reduce defects, and improve execution discipline across critical financial technology programs.
What you’ll do:
Lead the SHIP team across agile delivery, speed-to-market improvement, dependency management, and defect reduction initiatives
Establish program-level operating mechanisms using objectives and key results (OKRs), roadmap checkpoints, dependency boards, delivery risk reviews, DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) metrics, flow metrics, and executive escalation paths
Deploy into high-risk transformation workstreams to unblock delivery, stabilize execution, and implement repeatable mechanisms that improve future program performance
Drive measurable improvement in defect backlog reduction, sprint predictability, release discipline, scope control, cycle time, and deployment quality
Partner with engineering leaders to align delivery governance with production realities across payments, core banking, security, and compliance environments
Manage and develop transformation delivery talent through coaching, performance management, operating rhythm, and clear accountability for program outcomes
Lead cross-functional forums that improve execution transparency, clarify ownership, and accelerate decision-making across product, engineering, risk, operations, and compliance teams

What you will need to have:
13+ years of experience in delivery transformation, program delivery, engineering operations, or execution leadership within fintech, banking technology, payments, or similar large-scale technology environments
8+ years of experience leading transformation programs using scaled agile frameworks, Scrum, Kanban, OKRs, dependency management, release governance, and executive stakeholder engagement
5+ years of experience managing and developing teams
8+ years of experience using DORA metrics, flow metrics, delivery risk reviews, and structured intervention mechanisms to improve speed to market, release cadence, predictability, and defect outcomes
6+ years of experience partnering with engineering, product, risk, operations, and compliance teams in regulated or operationally critical delivery environments
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
Experience leading embedded delivery transformation teams within high-priority product or engineering modernization programs
Experience improving delivery execution in payments, core banking, security, or compliance-related technology environments
Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
Travel
