About the company

At EatClub, we believe restaurants and bars are the beating heart of every city’s culture. Whether it's discovering a hidden gem, grabbing a late-night takeaway, or meeting friends for a drink, our mission is simple: help the hospitality industry thrive through smart, powerful tech.

Our platform helps over 2 million customers discover top restaurants and access real-time deals that save them up to 50% off the bill. We empower more than 4,000 venues to fill empty tables, increase foot traffic, and maximise revenue.

Recently ranked #11 on the 2025 Deloitte Tech Fast 50! Now is an exciting time to join our team. Initially co-founded by Marco Pierre White and leaders in the food tech scene, we’re now a 150+ person scaleup that’s growing fast and making waves in the industry.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

  • Be part of a high-growth scale-up shaping the future of HospitalityTech
  • Lead transformative finance projects with real ownership and autonomy
  • Work closely with the CFO and senior leadership across multiple countries
  • Join a collaborative, high-performing team that values initiative, experimentation, and results

A Day-in-the-Life of our Global Financial Controller

You’ll step into a hands-on, strategic finance leadership role in a scale-up environment. Some days you’ll be designing systems and processes that will support growth for years to come; other days you’ll be rolling up your sleeves to solve immediate challenges in payroll, reporting, or compliance.

You’ll be a trusted partner to the CFO, working across finance, operations, and leadership teams to drive business performance. This is a role where your decisions, design choices, and processes will have a direct impact on the company’s growth trajectory.

On any given week, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a finance team of 4+, setting clear expectations and accountability
  • Own P2P processes and Revenue Billing processes. Ensure timely and accurate coding by the team.
  • Manage Treasury on a daily basis, fund float balances by 9AM Sydney time every day
  • Partner with the CFO on cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, and financial controls
  • Own the month-end close process and continuously reduce close timelines and rework
  • Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for non-finance leaders
  • Review and approve weekly payment runs, ensuring appropriate controls and segregation of duties
  • Maintain oversight of journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity, stepping in hands-on where required
  • Lead all aspects of group financial reporting under IFRS, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end consolidation and close across multiple entities (currently AU and UK with future expansion to other markets)
  • Manage all group tax obligations and compliance filings (GST/VAT, FBT, PAYG, R&D, international tax, Transfer Pricing)
  • Oversee and maintain the group’s financial systems, including Xero and billing systems, ensuring accurate configuration, data integrity, and reporting
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and risk frameworks
  • Be able to write and design accounting papers for key areas of Financial Statements
  • Act as the escalation point for operational finance issues across the business

Type of projects you’ll be working on at EatClub…

  • Lead the migration from Xero to NetSuite, including design, implementation, and optimisation
  • Design and roll out a scalable procure-to-pay process across multiple countries
  • Build and optimise finance processes across billing, procurement, travel, and expenses
  • Implement new systems, automations, and AI tools to improve finance operations
  • Lead audits and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Drive consolidation and management reporting, including variance analysis and month-end close improvements
  • Support strategic growth decisions with analysis and insight

You’ll have real autonomy to drive finance projects, processes, and reporting, while partnering closely with the CFO as their second-in-command shaping decisions, consolidating insights, and ensuring the business has the information it needs to grow.

You have…

  • 4-6 years of Big 4 experience in Audit and Assurance
  • Prior experience as a Financial Controller or Head of Finance in a scaling SaaS or marketplace business
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Experience operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions is highly regarded

It would be extra awesome if you also had…

  • Experience implementing or operating NetSuite
  • Exposure to high-growth or scale-up environments
  • Experience leveraging technology and automation in finance processes

You are…

  • A hands-on leader with a strong ownership mindset
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and transactional levels
  • An independent thinker who can work with ambiguity and make sound judgements
  • A strong cross-discipline communicator/translator, bridging finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Motivated by building scalable systems, automating processes, and improving outcomes

Maybe this role is not for you if:

  • Prefer highly structured environments with established processes and rigid hierarchies
  • Are uncomfortable with change, pace, or evolving priorities
  • Expect perfect data and fully formed systems from day one
  • Expect to only supervise the team and not post journals
