ABOUT FINTECH MEETUP EUROPE
Fintech Meetup Europe is the most efficient way for the region’s fintech ecosystem to connect, learn, and do business. Built by the team behind Fintech Meetup USA, this new launch brings our industry-defining meetings model to Europe for the first time. We’re facilitating 25,000+ double opt-in connections through our powerful Meetup platform, and replacing traditional exhibition booths with curated, ROI-driven connections and engagement across fintech, paytech, banking, and financial services. At the heart of this is Europe’s largest hosted meetings programme for fintech, bringing together more hosted buyers from banks, financial institutions, retailers, merchants, and investors than any other event in the region.
A bit about the role
The Sales Manager will play a key role in the commercial success of Fintech Meetup Europe, supporting the launch through targeted new business development and account conversion. Focused on mid-tier and growth accounts, this role is responsible for identifying and securing new sponsorship partnerships across fintech, banking, payments, and investment segments.
You’ll manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitch to contract and post-event rebooking, helping to build long-term value across a broad base of commercial clients. This is a hands-on, externally facing role that requires strong sales instincts, relationship-building skills, and the confidence to close in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
As a launch event, Fintech Meetup Europe relies on energy, agility, and commercial focus to deliver success from day one. This role is critical to scaling our mid-market partner base, activating new revenue streams, and ensuring a healthy balance of clients across the event. You’ll contribute directly to the vibrancy of our partner ecosystem and the strength of our long-term commercial pipeline.
As part of your job, you’ll be
● Drive new business revenue by sourcing, pitching, and closing SPEX partnerships with mid-tier clients
● Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads across all seller segments
● Convert early-stage conversations and go-to-market leads into paying customers
● Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
● Support event rebook through strong relationship management and follow-up
● Work with the Event Director to shape outreach strategies and support launch targets
● Maintain accurate pipeline data and reporting in CRM systems
● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support client delivery
● Attendance at Fintech Meetup Europe, Fintech Meetup US, and select industry events across Europe is required. Candidates must hold valid travel documentation, including an up-to-date passport and eligibility for European and US visas.
Here’s what we’re looking for from you
● 3+ years’ experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or business development (ideally within events, media, or fintech)
● Proven track record of closing deals and hitting sales targets in a fast-paced environment
● Strong communication skills and the ability to present with confidence to senior stakeholders
● High commercial awareness with a customer-first mindset
● Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to manage multiple priorities
● Comfortable using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and reporting tools
● Growth mindset and enthusiasm for working in a launch/startup environment
● Ability to adapt quickly, think creatively, and find solutions in a changing environment
