ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven, and highly motivated Event Director with deep experience in healthcare, health technology, or digital health to lead the end-to-end growth and delivery of ViVE.

Co-created in partnership with CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) , VIVE is the premier event for healthcare IT and digital health leaders, bringing together more than 7,500+ executives, innovators, providers, payers, investors, and technology companies each year to shape patient care and healthcare efficiency.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall success of ViVE—including strategy, execution, revenue growth, audience development, strategic partnerships, operational delivery, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening ViVE’s position as the most influential gathering for digital health leaders and accelerating growth across the healthcare ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event & Team Leadership

  • Lead the overall event strategy and execution for ViVE across marketing, sales, content, operations, strategic partnerships, and hosted buyer programs—ensuring alignment with the evolving US healthcare and health technology landscape
  • Own and continuously evolve the master project plans for event, ensuring alignment across all functions and managing event timeline
  • Run agile project cycles and “sprints” to deliver key milestones and drive momentum across overlapping event cycles
  • Inspire, manage, and develop a cross-functional team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
  • Be hands-on in delivery—comfortable executing as well as leading

Commercial Accountability

  • Own and deliver the full event revenue for ViVE across sponsorship, exhibition, hosted buyer meetings, and delegate ticket sales
  • Work closely with the sales team to maximize all revenue opportunities and optimize performance across both events
  • Actively contribute to sales, including closing high-value sponsorship deals with global healthcare brands
  • Collaborate with Head of Growth on pipeline management, sales reporting, and forecasting across dual revenue streams
  • Lead internal stakeholders to evolve sponsorship inventory, including creating innovative, high-value commercial opportunities that leverage the ViVE audience

Product Development & Innovation

  • Continuously enhance ViVE to ensure they remain industry-leading
  • Identify and implement new ideas across pricing models, content formats, audience experiences, and partnerships
  • Stay ahead of US healthcare trends including digital health, AI, payer/provider dynamics, health equity, and policy developments shaping the future of healthcare
  • Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring both events deliver exceptional value for all stakeholders
  • Leverage insights and best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Continuously evolve ViVE's executive-level experiences, hosted buyer programs, networking formats, and specialty content areas to increase attendee value and sponsor ROI

Strategic Partnership Management

  • Serve as the primary executive lead for the CHIME partnership, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities, audience growth, content development, and long-term value creation
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with key industry stakeholders in healthcare and health technology, including health systems, payers, pharma, medtech, digital health companies, investors, and associations
  • Identify and secure new strategic partnerships to expand the reach and influence of both events
  • Act as an ambassador for ViVE within the US and global healthcare and technology ecosystem

P&L Ownership

  • Own the full P&L for ViVE, ensuring strong financial performance and profitability
  • Manage cost control, budgeting, and team spend across dual event budgets
  • Deliver accurate and timely revenue forecasting across all revenue streams
  • Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on performance, market conditions, and macroeconomic factors affecting the US healthcare sector

ABOUT YOU

  • Deep understanding of the US healthcare, technology, and digital health landscape, including familiarity with the payer, provider, and digital health ecosystem
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams (minimum 5+ years)
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience delivering complex, large-scale events or projects, ideally within healthcare or technology sectors
  • Demonstrated success in owning and exceeding commercial targets (revenue and profit), ideally across multiple concurrent events
  • Strong sales capability, with experience closing high-value sponsorship deals with enterprise healthcare and technology companies
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships with industry associations or co-creation partners is highly desirable
  • Experience launching or scaling event products within the US market
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with overlapping event cycles
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at c-suite level across the healthcare industry
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required by event schedules
