Job Description
The Finance and Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing all financial operations, statutory compliances, and accounting functions for the company’s India entity. This role involves ensuring regulatory compliance under Indian laws, managing audits, budgeting, financial reporting, and collaborating closely with external auditors, the company secretary, and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate, compliant, and timely financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP/Ind AS and corporate reporting standards.
- Ensure timely submission of management reports, financial analyses, and variance explanations as required by regional or global headquarters.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to ensure liquidity and financial efficiency.
Audit Coordination
- Lead coordination with statutory auditors during interim and annual audits, ensuring accurate financial data and supporting documentation are available.
- Facilitate internal compliance audits, responding to queries and implementing corrective actions for process improvements.
- Ensure resolution of audit observations and proactive tracking of compliance gaps.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for group auditors and transfer pricing consultants.
Compliance & Company Secretariat Coordination
- Collaborate closely with the Company Secretary to ensure all statutory filings and board-related compliances under the Companies Act, 2013 are met.
- Support preparation and review of Board Meeting notices, resolutions, and annual returns.
- Ensure compliance with RBI, FEMA, Income Tax, and GST regulations applicable to the Indian operations.
- Manage filings related to foreign investments, transfer pricing documentation, and other regulatory submissions.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and variance reports aligned with business objectives and global finance guidelines.
- Monitor budget adherence, analyze deviations, and recommend cost optimization strategies.
- Provide accurate financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
Team Management
- Supervise the finance and accounting team, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and compliance with internal controls.
- Conduct periodic reviews and training on accounting standards, compliance updates, and best practices.
Process Improvements & Control
- Strengthen internal controls and standard operating procedures to enhance compliance and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitization in finance workflows.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, ethical standards, and data integrity requirements.
Other Responsibilities:
- Setting up all payments for vendor invoices for approval in local bank account, reviewing payroll with P&C team and recording month end payroll
- Annual payroll reporting, including: assisting and working with local P&C team on annual payroll reports and forms to employees and government authorities
- Assisting local Director of P&C, Corporate Controller and CFO from Wiser USA
Australia, Canada:
- Supervision of accounting staff who record all transactions for Wiser’s Australia and Canada subsidiaries and provide monthly End of Month supporting spreadsheets
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of post-qualification experience in finance and accounts, in a multinational service industry setup.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, income tax, FEMA, and Companies Act compliance.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle NetSuite system
- Proven experience in handling statutory audits, internal audits, and coordination with legal and secretarial teams.
