People Inc. is seeking a highly skilled production Photo Retoucher professional who can operate with confidence, autonomy, and strong visual judgment. This role is for a retoucher who understands what elevates an image without relying on detailed notes or constant direction. The ideal candidate brings a refined eye, production-level efficiency, and the ability to make informed creative decisions independently while maintaining consistency with brand standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver consistently high-quality retouching and image enhancements across a wide range of projects with exceptional attention to detail.
Execute complex retouching for high-visibility projects while maintaining brand integrity and visual consistency.
Apply strong visual judgment to independently determine when an image is complete, elevated, and production-ready.
Make informed decisions when workflows, actions, or guidelines do not explicitly cover a scenario.
Retouch high-volume image sets efficiently, including bulk color and exposure adjustments, without sacrificing quality.
Operate independently with minimal direction, confidently interpreting limited notes and feedback.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues within established actions, automation, and batch processes.
Candidates must be comfortable making informed visual decisions in ambiguous situations with little day-to-day support or direction.
Collaborate effectively with creative partners to understand goals while owning execution end-to-end.
Communicate clearly and professionally, remaining open to critique while taking ownership of final output.
Demonstrate accountability, strong work ethic, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Apply advanced color theory to achieve polished, cohesive, and production-accurate results.
Support basic video editing needs, including stitching clips, creating loops, and performing color and exposure adjustments.
Qualifications:
7-9 years of experience of in-house studio production retouching and image editing
Extensive experience working with photographers within in-house studio creative production
Advanced mastery of Adobe Photoshop, including pen tool work, masking, layers, blend modes, filters, actions, and automation
Proven ability to manage high-volume production workflows with speed, consistency, and precision
Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound visual decisions without detailed instruction
Strong experience troubleshooting workflow issues and adapting processes as needed
Exceptional visual taste with a clear understanding of balance, realism, and aesthetic refinement
Experience working with Digital Asset Management systems
Familiarity with project management tools and task-based workflows
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to adapt and learn new tools
1–2 years of foundational experience with Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects
Required Skills:
Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge
Deep understanding of production retouching standards and best practices
Strong proficiency in Photoshop actions, batch processing, and automation
Foundational knowledge of video editing workflows in Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects
Strong problem-solving skills related to evolving production needs exceptional attention to detail paired with high-output efficiency
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Good to Have:
Knowledge of production retouching techniques and workflows.
A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and innovate while tackling complex problems.
Photography skills and Studio experience
